Lawyer unaware of alleged plan to sue Motsoeneng

The interim board is apparently planning to sue Motsoeneng for the return of R11.4 million in bonuses he received in 2016.

JOHANNESBURG - Hlaudi Motsoeneng's lawyer says he's not aware of recent reports about the SABC's interim board planning to claw back millions of rands paid to his client or laying criminal charges against him.

The interim board is apparently planning to sue Motsoeneng for the return of R11.4 million in bonuses he received in 2016.

His lawyer Zola Majavu said: “In his current dispute with his employer, I know nothing about the issue and I don’t have instructions. Therefore, I am not at liberty to talk about it.”’

Motsoeneng is fighting his dismissal at the CCMA after a disciplinary committee found him guilty of contravening the broadcaster's code of conduct by holding a press conference while he was on suspension.
