Wesbank petrol bomb leaves elderly woman dead, children wounded
Several children were also injured in what’s reportedly the sixth petrol bomb attack in the area in as many months.
CAPE TOWN – A Wesbank grandmother has died and several children have been wounded after their home was petrol bombed.
The incident was reported in the area near Delft at the weekend.
It's been reported this is the sixth petrol bomb attack in the area in as many months.
The Mfuleni Community Policing Forum's Patrick Madasi says it's not yet clear if the spate of bombings are gang related.
“We don’t know if the bombings are gang related yet. That is why the police are investigating who the perpetrator of this was. The situation is going back to square one, where these boys were busy bombing houses and shooting each other. It was quiet for a while, but now it's coming back again."
