JOHANNESBURG – Karabo Mokoena’s sister Bontle says her sister was a deeply spiritual person who loved her parents and made sacrifices to give the both of them proper opportunities to a better life.

Bontle gave an emotional speech at the funeral of her sister where family and friends have gathered to pay their last respects to the slain 22-year-old.

Mokoena was allegedly killed by her boyfriend.

Her burnt body was found in Lyndhurst last month.

Bontle read a letter written by her sister in 2015, describing how she loved her parents who despite their humble beginnings made sure their children had a good education.

The letter also detailed the slain 22-year-old’s admiration for her father.

Bontle said she didn't know how life would be now that her sister was no more.

The procession would move from Diepkloof to the Westpark Cemetery.
