JOHANNESBURG – Residents at the Princess Informal Settlement have blocked the Walter Sisulu Road in Roodepoort.

The community has been protesting over the lack of housing and electricity in the area since Thursday.

It’s understood they broke down a wall at a nearby residential complex and broke into some of the houses.

The police's Sam Manala says they've arrested one person so far.

“We have arrested the person because they already entered one of the townhouses. They broke in and took the TVs.”
