ANC in KZN protests against 'judicial overreach'
All African National Congress (ANC) leagues in KwaZulu-Natal will march from King Dinizulu Park to the Durban magistrates court.
DURBAN - A protest against judicial overreach is expected to get underway in Durban on Monday.
All KwaZulu-Natal African National Congress (ANC) leagues will march from King Dinizulu Park to the Durban magistrate's court.
The demonstration has been prompted by the recent decision by the High Court in Pretoria which has asked President Jacob Zuma to present records of how he made the decision to reshuffle his Cabinet.
ANC supporters from the eThekwini, Moses Mabhida and KwaDukuza regions are among the branches expected to march today.
More busses are still expected here, transporting demonstrators who braved the cold and wet weather.
The march will end at the Durban magistrate's court.
KZN provincial leadership also insist that the march is not in support of Zuma but in defence of the country’s democracy.
They have, however, reiterated that Zuma isn't going anywhere until the ANC says so.
