JOHANNESBURG - Former president Kgalema Motlanthe says laws governing land ownership are among the key concerns raised by South Africans.
Motlanthe led a high-level panel on the assessment of the country's legislation he presented a preliminary report on his findings at the speaker's forum in Johannesburg on Thursday.
“The issues of land hunger, the issues of how the CPAs are constituted, the role of – in certain provinces - land claims commissioners who are alleged to be biased toward certain leaders and so on.”
The panel has held public hearings across the country about the effectiveness of key laws enacted since 1994.
