[LISTEN] True reason for Zuma's Cabinet reshuffle

| Azar Jammine talks about President Jacob Zuma's recent Cabinet reshuffle and says it was clear he wanted to have those close to him around him.

Dr Azar Jammine, Chief Economist at Econometrix, talks about the recent Cabinet reshuffle by President Jacob Zuma and says it was clear Zuma wanted to have those close to him around him.

He says Zuma chose Malusi Gigaba as a cover-up despite his lack of credentials for the job but he was a better option that the one Zuma did with Des van Rooyen.

Jammine says Gugaba has had numerous failures in the departments he has led, including the time when he was Public Enterprise Minister, where he struggled with the issues from Eskom and SAA.

He says this reshuffle doesn’t necessarily mean the government is moving forward with its economic transformation as is stated in the ANC economic policy draft.
