CAPE TOWN - Police have recovered some stolen items belonging to Water and Sanitation Minister Nomvula Mokonyane.

Her Mthatha hotel room was burgled while she was sleeping during the early hours of Sunday morning.

The security alerted Mokonyane of her room's open window when she discovered some of her items were missing.

The police's Marinda Mills says a TV from another room was also stolen during the break-in.

“They took her handbag with an iPad and cellphone, televisions and toiletries. The two televisions were recovered and some of the toiletries. The other items taken have not been recovered.”

No one has been arrested yet.
