Metrorail services suspended following Mzimhlophe protest

JOHANNESBURG - Metrorail says services remain suspended after service delivery protests erupted in Mzimhlophe on Monday morning.
The Soweto highway was affected when residents started burning tyres.
Metrorail says it is working to repair train signalling cables. And commuters have been urged to make alternative arrangements.
Metrorail’s Lillian Mofokeng said: “They damaged our signalling cables, so we are busy repairing them. It had nothing to do with us. Cables were damaged during a community service delivery protest.”
