JOHANNESBURG - Helen Zille seems to have finally gone too far for her party's leadership.

The Western Cape Premier and former Democratic Alliance leader will face a disciplinary hearing over a series of tweets defending colonialism.

And now, she's facing disciplinary action.

DA leader Mmusi Maimane, who succeeded Zille, has strongly condemned her comments.

Speaking to Eusebius McKaiser on Radio 702 and 567 Cape Talk on Thursday morning, Maimane said: "At this point in time I want to highlight that the matter has now been referred to our own internal disciplinary process that will seek to investigate that particular matter."
