CAPE TOWN - A police task force has been established to deal with taxi violence in Mthatha.

A woman was killed and seven others wounded when they were caught in a crossfire between rival taxi operators earlier this week.

In a separate incident, a taxi driver was shot dead and his vehicle set alight.

The police's Mirinda Mills says: “The violence will not be tolerated. We have told taxi operators we’re coming for them and they won’t be able to hide from the arm of the law.”
