JOHANNESBURG – A farm manager has been hospitalised after he was injured during an apparent fight with farm workers over wages.

Police received a complaint about a fight on the Schuurmansfontein road earlier on Monday.

According to reports, some of the farm workers were upset about not receiving their wages.

Armed with various weapons, they are then believed to have approached the manager where a fight broke out.

The police's Frederick van Wyk says: “The farm manager was taken to a nearby hospital before the arrival of the police. The seriousness of the wounds is yet to be confirmed. No arrests have been made. Members are still gathering information.”
