Driver charged with attempted murder after Uxbridge level crossing collision
Metrorail has urged motorists to use level-crossings with caution following an accident at the Uxbridge level crossing in the Lakeside area.
CAPE TOWN - Motorists have been urged to use level crossings with caution.
This comes after a driver ignored signalling from a Metrorail official at the Uxbridge level crossing in the Lakeside area on Monday.
A train then smashed into the vehicle.
Criminal charges, including one of attempted murder, have been laid against the driver.
Transport MEC Donald Grant says, “We have laid formal charges against the driver who disregarded instructions from people on the ground and proceeded to try and go around the boom while the train was oncoming.”
