[LISTEN] Rooibos tea: An 'amazing, miraculous' product

| Ernest du Toit, Director of the SA Rooibos Council, explains the benefits that drinking rooibos tea will have on hangovers and other ailments.

JOHANNESBURG – Ernest du Toit, Director of the SA Rooibos Council says that reversing the damage caused by heavy drinking is not completely possible but it might do the majority of the population good, if South Africans resolve to follow the recent trend in the UK, where an increasing number of Brits have swapped booze for healthier beverage options, such as tea, for an entire month.

He speaks to 702’s Relebogile Mabotja about ‘Dry January’ - a relatively new trend where over 17, 000 Britons stopped drinking alcohol for the month.

A survey found that in the six months following the 'Dry January' challenge, more than 72% of them had kept harmful drinking episodes at bay.
