JOHANNESBURG - Bidvest Wits moved to the top of the PSL table after their 1-0 win over Chippa United thanks to a Gabadinho Mhango strike in the second half.

Supersport United’s 6-1 thrashing of Orlando Pirates, that saw the resignation of Muhsin Ertugral, sees them in second place on the log.

Kaizer Chiefs failed to move ahead of Wits after they were held to a disappointing goalless draw against Baroka FC.

Platinum Stars beat Golden Arrows away for just their second win of the season while Maritzburg and Highlands Park ended 1-1.

Cape Town City moved up to fifth with a narrow win over Bloemfontein Celtic while a draw for their neighbours Ajax Cape Town keeps them at the bottom of the table. They’re yet to win a match this season.

African champions Mamelodi Sundowns, who have been preoccupied with the CAF Champions League recently, played just their third match, beating Polokwane City 2-0 to find themselves second from the bottom with five games in hand.
