JOHANNESBURG - South African kwaito musician Mduduzi 'Mandoza' Tshabalala has died.

His family has confirmed that he lost his battle to cancer earlier today, about a year after he had been diagnosed with a brain tumour.

He was admitted to hospital a week ago, with his family later confirming that he was home and in a stable condition.

Fans have already taken to social media to express their shock at the musician's passing.

Mandoza made his last public appearance at the South African Broadcasting Corporation's 'Thank You' concert last week at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto.
