The 10-year-old will now undergo criminal capacity evaluation at a private institution.
JOHANNESBURG – A 10-year-old boy, who allegedly killed his friend by hitting him on the head with a steel rod in Malvern, will now undergo psychological evaluation.
The accused is believed to have hit his 12-year-old friend on the back of the head on Saturday morning after an argument.
The victim collapsed and died on a pavement near his home.
The 10-year-old boy is still in the custody of his mother and will now undergo criminal capacity evaluation at a private institution.
It’s believed the two had been arguing on Friday and the altercation spilled over into the next day.
The police's Richard Munyai says the accused's case was struck off the court's roll as he is a minor.
The family of the victim say they are devastated by the sudden loss of their only child.
