'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' sees record-breaking opening
The film took the South African Box Office by storm on its opening weekend.
JOHANNESBURG - Times Media Films says the new action adventure_ Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice_has no sign of slowing down on its record-breaking earnings of R16 million following it's opening weekend in South Africa.
The film, which is currently showing on 137 screens across the country, has hit an all-time record opening in the country.
Marketing Manager Sue Dickinson says, "Anticipation for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been building across South Africa and these incredible results are a testament to not only the enduring appeal of these global icons, but the power of the epic cinematic showdown Zack Snyder and his brilliant cast and crew have delivered. We couldn't be more thrilled with the film's incredible debut and strong word-of-mouth and repeat business promises to propel its success well into the season."
The follow up to Snyder's Man of Steel sees Batman and Superman come together, and is the very first feature film to include Wonder Woman - the third Super Hero in DC Comics' iconic Trinity.
It stars Oscar winner Ben Affleck as Batman, Bruce Wayne and Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent.
