CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police are yet to make headway in their investigation into the death of an Uber driver.

The 59-year-old man was killed while waiting for passengers outside the Baxter Theatre Centre in the early hours of Friday morning.

Webb-Law Chehore was shot and killed a day before he was due to celebrate his 60th birthday.

His grieving son has since taken to social media to express his grief and regret.

The Cape Town-based man has tweeted and posted status updates on Facebook saying he wishes he had been able to protect his father.

He's also using the internet to gather information, asking members of the public to come forward with any relevant tip-offs.

His Twitter plea, using the hashtag #JusticeForWebbLaw, has been retweeted more than 3,500 times.

In another post he wrote he’d give anything to take one last trip with his father.
