CAPE TOWN - The Matroosberg Mountains near Ceres in the Western Cape have recorded the first snowfall for 2016.
A cold front enveloped parts of the Western Cape this long weekend, unleashing gale force winds and heavy rainfall.
The Matroosberg private Nature Reserve's Didi de Kock said, "It is earlier than other years as we normally get our first snow in April. It is a very good start of winter and we are quite pleased with the amount of snow."
