Three former SAPS members arrested in Ghana
While it is unclear what charges the trio face, the SA embassy has confirmed they are in police custody.
JOHANNESBURG - The Department of International Relations and Corporation (Dirco) has confirmed that three South African citizens have been arrested in Ghana, but it's unclear what charges they are facing.
The department says South African embassy officials are working with Ghanaian police on the matter and will be visiting the trio in prison soon.
Dirco spokesperson Nelson Kgwete says the three are former police officers and were arrested last week.
"The South African embassy in Accra has confirmed to us that three South African citizens have been arrested in the country by Ghanaian authorities. The three are former members of South African Police Service."
