PRETORIA - Personal injury attorney Ronald Bobroff has said through his lawyers he's willing to help the police in any investigation into his conduct.

The Hawks say that Bobroff and his son Darren were scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, but they have fled the country for Australia.

Father and son are accused of overcharging and defrauding dozens of road accident victims.

Attorney Ulrich Roux said Ronald and Darren Bobroff aren't aware of any charges that have been brought against them.

"They will obviously have be informed as to what the charges relate and exactly what it entails and once they're informed then they will be in position to properly assist the National Prosecuting Authority or the South African Police Service."

Roux did not say why his clients have gone to Australia.

He said they left the country freely without breaking any laws or contravened any restrictions imposed on their movement.
