Yet another major drug bust at OR Tambo Airport
A woman was allegedly trying to smuggle R1 million worth of tik through the airport.
JOHANNESBURG - There's been another major drug bust at OR Tambo International Airport, with police arresting a woman who was allegedly trying to smuggle R1 million worth of tik through the airport.
This is the third bust in as many days.
At the weekend, a 47-year-old woman was caught with 32 kilogrammes of tik, while another woman was caught with 20 kilogrammes of cat.
Police say the woman caught last night was arrested during a routine search.
Spokesperson Vishnu Naidoo says despite the frequency of the arrest, the number of people trying to smuggle drugs has not decreased.
"We are hoping that these arrests will serve as a deterrent at some stage."
