Manyi: Guptas never interfered with my dept
Mzwanele Manyi says he knows nothing about Themba Maseko’s claims that Zuma asked him to help the Guptas.
JOHANNESBURG - Former government spokesperson Mzwanele Jimmy Manyi says the Gupta family did not ever try to interfere with how he was running his department.
Maseko has also said the Guptas tried to force him to spend governments' advertising budget in their newspaper.
Manyi took over from Maseko at the Government Communication and Information System (GCIS).
But he says his dealings with the Gupta family were the same as his dealings with every other media organisation.

"There was no interference whatsoever. I did my work and the interaction I have had with anyone was no different from the interaction I had with any other person as it were. There was nothing extraordinary at all."
Manyi says Maseko's claims came as news to him when they were published on Sunday.
