UK man wanted for child sex crimes to appear in CT court
The man, wanted by Interpol, has apparently been working as a helicopter pilot at the V&A Waterfront.
CAPE TOWN - A United Kingdom citizen who was apprehended in Cape Town in connection with a string of child sex crimes in his home country will appear in court today.
The Welshman was nabbed in Green Point on Friday after being on the run for several years.
The 52-year-old has been on Interpol's wanted list for more than 10 years.
He's believed to have been working as a helicopter pilot at the V&A Waterfront.
According to international reports, the man is suspected of being part of a paedophile ring, detected in the 90s, in the Bristol area.
The suspect will make his first court appearance at the Cape Town Magistrates Court today on charges of sexual offences.
He's being held at the Sea Point Police Station.
