CAPE TOWN - The Helen Suzman Foundation's Johannesburg offices have been robbed.

A group of robbers have allegedly made off with documents and computers.

The Helen Suzman Foundation's Francis Antonie has confirmed the organisation's Parktown offices in Johannesburg were hit yesterday afternoon by a group of robbers.

Antonie says staff members arrived at the offices yesterday afternoon.to find a security guard handcuffed to a railing.

The guard claimed two people entered the premises and took him to the basement.

Several more robbers then arrived, some of them were armed.

Antonie says three of them walked through the offices, led by a woman, who pointed out computers to steal.

The robbery comes days after the foundation submitted an interdict calling for Hawks boss Berning Ntlemeza to be suspended until a court matter relating to the legitimacy of his appointment is finalised.

No arrests have been made following the robbery.
