7 people die after the car they were travelling in burns in Montagu

It's understood the driver lost control of the car causing it to overturn before it caught fire.

CAPE TOWN - Seven people including two children have died after their car burst into flames outside Montagu in the Western Cape.

It's understood the driver lost control of the car causing it to overturn before it caught fire.

The exact cause of the incident is not yet known.

Provincial traffic chief Kenny Africa says officers are still on scene.

"The driver lost control and the vehicle overturned then burst flames. There were nine occupants in the vehicle, seven of them burnt beyond recognition, the other two have been taken to hospital."
