JOHANNESBURG – Two people have died in a car accident involving several vehicles including a KwaZulu-Natal government blue lights vehicle.

KwaZulu-Natal Premier Senzo Mchunu has instructed his Special Advisor on Good Governance, advocate Linda Zama, to work with the police and the Road Traffic Inspectorate to investigate a number of accidents which occurred along the N2's Nonoti last night.

Spokesperson Ndabezinhle Sibiya says the details are still sketchy at the moment.

“There are a number of unanswered questions around the accident but the premier is hopeful law enforcement agencies will find the driver of the truck that apparently drove away.”

Sibiya says one of the premier's blue light vehicles was involved in the accident and the driver was injured but is recovering.
