MAURITIUS - African leaders and dignitaries, including Graca Machel, have gathered in Mauritius for the launch of a new University.

The African Leadership University was opened late last year to offer a new and diverse way of learning.

One-hundred-and-eighty sponsored students from across the African continent are studying at the Mauritian campus.

The African Leadership University’s Mauritius campus aims to produce African leaders based on a custom designed curriculum and an interactive learning experience.

South African student, Piet Motaloata, who moved to Mauritius last year says the opportunities are endless.

An Avid supporter of the Fees the Fall Campaign in South Africa, he says everyone should have access to education in order to reach their potential.

Graca Machel, the Inaugural Chancellor, is due to address the students and African dignitaries at an opening gala tomorrow.
