Joburg Water working to restore supply in Yeoville
Johannesburg Water says low-lying areas will be the first to have their water restored.
JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg Water says it's working to restore capacity at one of the city's largest reservoirs in Yeoville, which dried up after repairs were delayed.
The upgrades were due to be completed by this morning, however, water has still has not been restored to surrounding suburbs.
Johannesburg Water says low-lying areas will be the first to have their water restored but it will take more time to build pressure in high-lying areas.
Spokesperson Hilgard Matthews said, "All the areas are not going to have water. The low-lying areas will have water first then, as the capacity in the reservoir fills, up we will be able to fill up the towers that will provide water to the high-lying areas."
