CAPE TOWN - Libraries across the City of Cape Town will host various programmes in support of South African Library Week, which starts today, under this year’s theme of ‘libraries for lifelong learning’.

The city has 100 libraries with a stock of more than four million books.

The city’s Belinda Walker said, “The libraries are hosting programmes geared to developing interests in skills in communities. Some of these are on a regular basis, while others are part of the holiday programmes. They include storytelling, poetry reading, public speaking competitions and a variety of arts and crafts programmes.”
