UPDATE: Indian couple killed by speedster in Vanderbijlpark
It’s understood the 26-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle & died on the scene.
JOHANNESBURG - An Indian couple has been killed after they were hit by a speeding car in Vanderbijlpark.
The Gauteng Traffic Department says the 26-year-old driver also died on the scene.
It's understood he lost control of his vehicle and collided with the couple, who were walking on the sidewalk.
They had just left a restaurant when the accident occurred.
The department's Obed Sibasa says the BMW was traveling at an excessive speed in a 60 kilometre zone.
"The driver lost control, overturned and hit the curb. Then he landed in between the foreign nationals. The male was airlifted, but passed on."
