JOHANNESBURG - There are fears that there’ll be further attacks in Katlehong this evening following a fatal shooting, vandalism and looting in the area overnight and today.

Police have arrested four foreign nationals on the East Rand after the shooting which has left one person dead and four others wounded.

Dozens of police officers have been deployed to Katlehong to monitor the situation.

At least 20 marked police vehicles are parked along one of the main roads in the area and several more officers are on foot trying to restore calm.

Many foreigners say all their belongings were taken earlier this morning when their shops were looted and they now fear for their lives.

Many have gathered at the local police station with whatever they’ve managed to salvage.

Police will patrol the streets this evening to ensure there are no further incidents.
