Panayiotou expected to launch 3rd bail application
The alleged wife killer has already been denied bail on two occasions.
CAPE TOWN – Alleged wife killer Christopher Panayiotou is expected to launch another bail application.
The Port Elizabeth businessman accused of master-minding his wife's kidnapping and murder, has already been denied bail on two occasions.
He appeared in court yesterday alongside two men, whom he allegedly paid to kill Jayde Panayiotou in April 2015.
Panayiotou’s defence team, consisting of senior council Terry Price and attorney Alwyn Griebenow, says ‘new information’ has come to light.
They are however not disclosing what this new evidence is, and how it will help get their client out on bail.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Tshepo Ndwalaza says, “We're not worried. We will oppose the granting of bail…”
Panayiotou and his co-accused are back in the dock on 18 April.
