CAPE TOWN - A 67-year-old man has drowned in Fish Hoek Beach.

The man had been swimming with his son at Fish Hoek Beach when they were apparently caught in a rip-current earlier today.

The National Sea Rescue Institute, which was in the area for an unrelated incident, managed to pull the two men out of the water.

The Sea Rescue Institute’s Craig Lambinon said, “CPR was commenced on the A 67-year-old man but it was terminated on the scene and the man was declared deceased.”
