'Cooking blood' corrupt cop back in court today
The Pinelands based police officer is accused of ‘cooking’ blood samples of drunk driving suspects.
CAPE TOWN - A Cape Town police officer alleged to have microwaved blood samples of drunk drivers is back in court today.
The 45-year-old has been charged with corruption.
The Pinelands based police officer is accused of 'cooking' blood samples of drunk driving suspects.
He allegedly did this to make the blood alcohol content undetectable.
Police say the accused would microwave the blood before the samples reached the health department for analysis.
He'd then allegedly contact the drunk driving suspects and extort money from them.
The officer was arrested in December and is today again appearing in the Goodwood Magistrates Court.
