The officer has been out on bail since his last court appearance in January.
He’s accused of raping his neighbour’s daughter.
The man has indicated he will plead not guilty to raping the girl.
In January, the girl alleged the officer raped her while they were swimming at a Camps Bay Beach on New Year’s Day.
The girl and her parents withdrew the complaint a few hours later.
Prosecutors however are still using the girl’s initial statement as evidence and the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) has continued its probe.
Ipid has been dealing with at least three cases of rape allegations against senior police officials in the Western Cape since the start of this year.
