CAPE TOWN - The City of Tshwane's Water and Sanitation Department has shut down water supply to the Pretoria CBD this morning saying it urgently needs to replace a leaking pipeline.

City officials say it was decided to immediately do the work today to avoid more inconvenience during the week.

It says its team of plumbers will ensure that the work is completed as quickly as possible.

The city's Lindela Mashigo says the interruption will go on until 6pm this evening.

“This means water supply to the Pretoria CBD might be affected because we have to replenish a leaking toilet pipeline. This interruption will last until 6pm today.”
