Azaadville community ‘traumatised’ after double murder
Haroon Saley died shortly after the attack while his son, Yusuf, succumbed to his wounds in hospital.
JOHANNESBURG - The Azaadville community has been left traumatised by the double murder of a well-known activist and his son.
Haroon Saley, aged 65, and his son Yusuf, aged 29, were shot in their home in west of Johannesburg this morning during what appears to have been an armed robbery.
Saley died shortly after the attack while his son later succumbed to his wounds in hospital.
Police have confirmed that three men entered the Saley family's home through one of the windows in the early hours of this morning.

Kagiso Police Station Commander Sipho Ngubane said, "We have been here since this morning and we're trying to get the community members to assist us in terms of information."
Chairperson of the Azaadville Community Policing Forum, Shabir Dabhelia, says residents living in the area have been shaken by the double murder.
"I think we're very sad by the news of his death and, of course, the news of his son's death."
Local police, residents and some members from Interpol have arrived at the family's home to pay their condolences.
