Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services Theo Layne said, During the course of the night we responded to two incidents that involved fatalities.
Meanwhile, the City of Cape Town has started distributing building kits to families affected by a blaze in Imizamo Yethu.
Officials say more than 130 homes were gutted when the fire tore through the Hout Bay informal settlement yesterday.
Around 600 people have been left homeless after the devastating fire ripped through the area in the early hours ofSaturday morning.
Sandile Moxala whos been living there for 15 years says he narrowly escaped the blaze with only the clothes on his back.
I dont have clothes, identity document, and food as I lost everything. Ive hot only these clothes.
Moxala, still dressed in a soot and ash-stained blue overall, says this is the second devastating fire to hit the area in less than two weeks.
Residents say they will now spend the next few hours trying to rebuild their lives.
