Truck driver in Obed Bapela crash arrested

The accident happened on N12 near Fochville in Gauteng last night.

JOHANNESBURG - Police have confirmed the driver of a truck which crashed into the car of the Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Obed Bapela has been arrested.

The accident happened on N12 near Fochville in Gauteng last night.

Bapela is currently recovering in hospital following the crash.

The police’s Noxolo Kweza said, “I can confirm that we have arrested the driver of the truck and we are investigating [the matter] on charges of negligent driving and have also opened a case of drunk and driving against him.”
