Makhura to announce names of panel members to tackle racism
The Gauteng premier said he will put together a team of what he calls eminent people to tackle racism.
JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Premier David Makhura says he will announce the names of the people who will make up the panel of a team to address racism next month.
He says he will announce the team and their tasks in the coming weeks.
Makhura says first on the agenda will be to go to higher learning institutions and hopefully curb racial tensions.
"We want the eminent persons to help us confront this in spaces that may not be public. There are still many social institutions where racism is rife in our schools and even in our places of worship."
