CAPE TOWN - A 20-year-old man has pleaded guilty to beheading 15-year-old Lee Adams in Ravensmead in 2013.
Aljar Swartz made the admission in the Western Cape High Court today.
Adams's body was discovered at an abandoned school, while his head was found buried in the accused's backyard.
Emotions ran high in Courtroom 6 after Swartz admitted to decapitating Adams.
The victim's father and aunts embraced outside court, comforting each other as they cried.
In his admission of guilt, Swartz admits to strangling, stabbing and then beheading Adams at the abandoned Florida Primary School in Ravensmead.
Swartz initially denied killing the 15-year-old, but he's now confessed following damning evidence from fingerprint and DNA experts.
