Donald Sebolai labelled a 'cold blooded killer'
The fomer Jozi FM DJ says he didn’t kill his girlfriend during an argument at his Soweto flat in 2014.
JOHANNESBURG - The prosecution in the Donald Sebolai trial has told the high court sitting in Palm Ridge that the convicted murderer's actions are like those of a cold blooded killer, as he even cleaned the floor instead of saving Dolly Tshabalala's life.
Tshabalala was stabbed to death at Sebolai's Soweto flat during an argument in 2014.
The former Jozi FM DJ maintains he didn't murder his girlfriend and that she stabbed herself.
The defence has asked Judge Cassim Moosa for a sentence between 10 and 12 years for murder and defeating the ends of justice.
But the state says that would be too lenient and has asked for a lengthy sentence to send out a strong message to the community that domestic violence will not go unpunished.
Sebolai has three young children whom he has to support, and a family that's financially dependent on him.
The defence says he's not a violent man and will be rehabilitated in minimum time.
A sentence will be handed down in two weeks time.
