CT detectives make breakthrough in double murder
Police have arrested a man accused of killing Nikieta Holly & Keshia Manuel in July last year.
CAPE TOWN - Police have confirmed the arrest of a man accused of killing two Kraaifontein teenagers last year.
Detectives have finally made a breakthrough after police searched for suspects for over six months.
Nikieta Holly, 16, and Keshia Manuel, 17, were shot and killed while walking to a shop in Scottsville last July.
Three others were wounded in the incident.
Police spokesperson Frederick Van Wyk says a suspect was taken into custody in Bellville last night.
"The South African Police Service's endeavours paid off when members apprehended and had the person responsible for the double murder perpetrated in Kraaifontein during July last year prosecuted."
The man's been charged with two counts of murder and three of attempted murder.
He is expected to appear in the Kuils River Magistrates Court today.
