Sebolai says he regrets engaging in fight with Tshabalala
Sebolai is sticking to his version that Tshabalala stabbed herself, but regrets engaging in a fight with her.
JOHANNESBURG - The High Court in Palm Ridge has heard that convicted killer Donald Sebolai now blames himself for the events that lead to the death of his girlfriend, Dolly Tshabalala, but maintains he didn't stab her.
Tshabalala was found stabbed to death in Sebolai's flat in Soweto two years ago.
The former Jozi FM DJ believes he could have saved Tshabalala's life if he took her to hospital on time, but says he was too traumatised.
His legal team says he's not a cold-blooded killer, nor a violent man.
Sebolai is sticking to his version that Tshabalala stabbed herself, but regrets engaging in a fight with her over the knife.
The State says the former DJ has also failed to show any remorse and that his tears, while on the witness stand, are questionable.
But the defence says one need not confess to killing someone in order to show remorse.
Sebolai will know his fate in March when the judge hands down sentence.
