CAPE TOWN – Today marks the second of two days of post-State of the Nation Address (Sona) debate by MPs in Parliament.

Last week President Jacob Zuma delivered his eighth Sona, which was delayed by disruptions from both Cope and the EFF.

Yesterday Zuma sat through a bruising first bout as the opposition Democratic Alliance (DA) and Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) took advantage of his costly reshuffle of finance ministers and his U-turn on the Nkandla spending scandal.

EFF leader Julius Malema claimed inside knowledge to suggest Zuma was under the sway of the politically connected Gupta family, while DA leader Mmusi Maimane accused the president of living on ‘Planet Zuma’, out of touch with the lives of ordinary South Africans.
