CAPE TOWN - One structure has been destroyed by a vegetation fire outside Worcester which has been raging Saturday.

The fire brought down a horse stable in Elskloof and scorched some vineyards between Wolseley and Worcester.

No other structures are currently in danger and the fire has been brought under control.

Cape Winelands Fire and Rescue's Heinrich Louw says, "There are still a number of hot spots on the perimeter as well as in the mountain peaks which are inaccessible for fire personnel. Flareups are expected, thus monitoring and mop up operations will continue."
