Man hit by 500kg tractor tyre in a critical condition

Paramedics say the 25-year-old man was attempting to change the tyre at the time.

CAPE TOWN - A man is in a critical condition after a 500 kilogram tractor tyre fell on top of him.

The 25-year-old had to be airlifted to hospital following the incident at an off-road motor cross track in Morning Star near Table View.

ER24's Russel Meiring says the man was attempting to change the tyre at the time.

"Other workers witnessed this and proceeded to lift the tyre and pull him out. On assessment, we found that the man was in a critical condition."
