Beerhouse murder case remanded
Nasbie Edwards is said to have told his two co-accused to ‘draw blood’ on the night of the attack.
CAPE TOWN - A murder case against three men accused of stabbing to death a popular long street doorman has been remanded as DNA reports and witness statements still need to be obtained.
Ubain van der Berg, Nasbie Edwards and Toufeeq Essa appeared in the Cape Town Magistrates Court today.
They allegedly killed Beerhouse doorman Joe Kanyona outside the premises in June 2015.
The State claims the murder was premediated.
Edwards is alleged to have ordered van der Berg and Essa to 'draw blood' on the night of the attack.
Experts have testified the term: 'to draw blood' means to wound to an extent where blood is visible.
The case resumes on 11 March.
